1% for the Planet is a global network of businesses committed to donating 1% profits to environmental initiatives. Vaer has been a member of the organization since 2018.
As both outdoorsmen and entrepreneurs, Vaer founders Ryan Torres and Reagan Cook have been deeply inspired by the example of Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard. His organization, 1% for the Planet (which he describes as "paying rent for our use of the planet") is a powerful network that allows small independent brands to connect and support causes related to the protection and preservation of wilderness space.
We've donated profits to a range of organizations, primarily focused on protecting America's ocean and freshwater resources.
